This may be a good time for dental professionals to "speak up" and utilize the DPPS, Inc website as a blog so others know they are not alone in these tough times. If your office is doing great and you have a full schedule, we want to hear from you too. Tell us how you’re doing it.

I work part time, two days a week. There are 2 full-timers. When the full-timers' schedule has an opening, the front desk slides one of my patients to their schedule. If my schedule has less than 3 patients, the office calls and cancels my day. There are 2 front desk people, neither of which feel its her job to work on the schedule, therefore it doesn't get done. The boss does not get involved in HIS business and allows this to continue. The associate DDS is getting hacked off because I work with her so she has no hygiene patients to check and get restorative work from. I am looking for another RDH job but have not been successful in this economy. I have recently started a part time job at a Starbucks coffee shop. My husband has taken a second job. The associate DDS has taken a second job.

2009 DPPS SEMINAR INFORMATION

In 2009, we will begin the year with a CPR renewal course. The course date has not been set but will be held on a Wednesday in February 2009. If interested, please call DPPS (708) 535-9545 so we can add your name to the CPR list. When we get 20 participants a date will be set and you will be notified.
The 2009 DPPS Convention will be held on Sunday March 29, 2009 , worth 6.0 CEU’S. The Tinley Park Holiday Inn Convention Center will be the location for this event. The AM session will consist of different company speakers on: “Positive Products That Impact Dentistry.” The PM session will be provided by Sonicare on “Being Successful In Spite Of Your Patients: Strategies For Oral Health.”

The very popular St. Jude Children’s raffle will once again take place and another lap-top computer and other great items will be raffled off.
The September meeting in 2009 will return us to The Renaissance Hotel in Oak Brook and has already been set for September 19, 2009, plenty of time prior to re-certification. DPPS, Inc. will welcome Brenda Neilson from Ultradent. Brenda will be speaking on Adhesive Dentistry for the Dental Hygienist. Since there is time before this event the information will be placed on the DPPS, Inc. website (www.dental-placement.com) and I will be sure to update you as it gets closer.
DPPS, Inc. is doing its best to keep registration fees as low as possible. We are very fortunate that Sonicare–Philips Oral HealthCare is a sponsor to the DPPS website and dental events which helps achieve this goal. When attending a meeting a pre-registration price is offered for the next DPPS event. Please be sure to take advantage of this opportunity since it expires once the event is over.
